If you live, work, study or are in a country other than Romania for a longer period of time, it's that moment when you need your BT card (the physical debit card) as soon as possible - either a brand new one or a re-issued one because yours has expired or you've lost it.
We've prepared useful information on how you can get your card, whether you're already a customer or want to become one by taking even the first steps 100% remotely.
If you're a BT customer using BT Pay:
We'll help you get your card in any country and activate it remotely, and by then you'll have access to the same card, but digitally:
- First step: please call us on +40264 303 003 003 (BT Call Center team).
- Access to your digital card: within 24 hours you can add your new requested card digitally to BT Pay/other wallets, which you can use immediately (for online payments, POS payments, etc.) and before you receive your physical card.
- We send your card by courier and you receive it in 3 - 5 days (shipping cost: 200 lei/request).
- How to activate the card, also remotely: once you receive the card (the physical one), please call us for activation on +40264 303 003 003 (also BT Call Center team).
If you want to become a BT customer, you can do it through the BT Pay app, wherever you are:
Download the BT Pay app to your phone from Google Play, App Store or Huawei App Gallery, then open a BT account in minutes and instantly receive a (digital) debit card in the app, which you can use straight away. You can see the bank's full range of cards here.
- When requesting your card in BT Pay, fill in the delivery address of the physical card in the app so we know where to send the physical card.
- The card reaches you by courier in 3-5 days. If you're in Italy, Spain, Germany, UK or Moldova, you don't have to pay anything for the shipping (it's on the house because we at BT take care of the cost of the shipping, it's a welcome gift from our bank).
- How to activate the physical card: once you receive it, please call us for activation on +40264 303 003 003 (BT Call Center team).
- How to feed the card:
- With BT Pay:
- Transfer from other cards you enroll in the app, issued by banks and fintechs abroad or in Romania;
- Transfer from other app users.
- By account transfer from any other bank.
Physical card vs digital card
We support remote banking solutions because they help us all manage our money much easier. But we know that sometimes you need your physical card where you can't pay with your phone, or because your phone has run out of battery.
Of course, the digital version of the card has its advantages - you can use the digital card immediately after applying for a card online, before you have the physical card; the risk of losing it is lower and, last but not least, the digital card does not demagnetize 😊. So it's best to have the card in both versions - physical and digital.
