BT PAY APP, ALL INCLUSIVE
The BT Pay app can be used anytime, anywhere in the world. From the large number of features, we have selected what would be most useful for you:
- Pay with your digital card (in dollars or lei), at the POS or online.
- Transfer money instantly to your own accounts or to others who have BT Pay. BT-BT transfer is free. You can easily transfer money from your dollar card to another person who has BT Pay just by the phone number in your address book:
- If the recipient doesn't have a dollar card, but has the BT Pay app, they can instantly issue a virtual USD card from the app, making transfers quick and easy.
- If the recipient doesn't have BT Pay, you can still send the money through the app, as long as you have the recipient's account.
- Check the money in your BT accounts and the transactions made (payments, sending/receiving money).
- Easily manage your cards - from changing transaction limits to blocking/unblocking (if you lose them or suspect fraud).
- You can request a physical card and we send it to America. If you need the physical card delivered, please get in touch with the Call Center team and then we'll send your card anywhere in the world.
- Currency exchange for feeding your BT card in dollars from your BT card/account in lei.
- You issue your travel insurance, 100% online, which can be obtained in about two minutes, via BT Pay.
- Pay your bills in Romania. In the app you have access to over 450 providers.
- You can save in USD if you have USD income. Interest rates vary depending on the period chosen: 2%/year (1-month deposits); 3.5%/year (12-month deposits).
If you don't already have BT Pay on your phone, you can download the app for free from Google Play, the App Store or the Huawei App Gallery.
DIGITAL AND PHYSICAL BT CARD
- Dollar card (virtual, debit)You can issue it directly in BT Pay and receive it instantly in the app. You can also use it in BT Pay for whatever you want. There are no issuance or administration costs, and there are zero fees for payments.
The dollar account - which you have access to with the card - is automatically opened in BT Pay when you issue your card, if you don't already have a dollar account with BT when you apply for the card.

TIPS & TRICKS:
Cards
- For the time being, we issue dollar cards exclusively digitally in the BT Pay app.
- It's a good idea to have your physical card with you at all times.
- You can use your lei card in the USA for payments and cash withdrawals. When you pay at the POS, on the screen you have the option to pay in USD or LEI. Choose USD to avoid extra currency exchange (in other words, it's more convenient for you).
- You can pay with your phone at merchants with your virtual card, either with the BT Pay app (if you have an Android phone) or with Apple Pay (if you have an iPhone, you can easily add your card to Apple Pay directly from BT Pay).
Commissions
- BT card payment fee in dollars (at POS in the USA): zero
- BT card payment fee in lei (at POS in the USA): zero
- BT card payment fee in lei (online in the USA): zero for debit cards
- US dollar ATM withdrawal fee from your BT card in lei: depending on the type of card you hold.
